Born in New York. Raised in New Zealand. Living in Brooklyn. The son of a professional jazz pianist from New Zealand and klezmer musician from New York.
Was top scholar at his high school and received the Fine Arts prize. At university Joseph went from Industrial Design to Mathematics and Computer Science. He’s also a Grade 8 clarinettist.
With a passion for problem solving and a need to be creative, Joseph divides his time between making kinetic art and designing user-interfaces for iPhone, iPad and web apps at 9MMedia.
Joseph specializes in making Rube Goldberg machines, which have been viewed by millions of people worldwide, and featured in The New Yorker online, as well as numerous television and radio shows. He’s led Rube Goldberg workshops in Brooklyn, Boston and Venice, and lectured at Parsons The New School For Design in New York.
